I am looking for a weight gain supplement and a skin/hair supplement for my Nigerian Dwarf Goat doe. Would the Trifecta work for this, or should I look at purchasing two separate products?
———
Horse Guard replied:
Trifecta is not intended as a source of energy, but instead, a complete vitamin and mineral supplement. It is also only manufactured and formulated for horses in mind, we suggest you consult your veterinarian before feeding any of our products to species other than horses, mules, or donkeys. That being said there is a hoof supplement in Trifecta but you may be better off looking into Hoof & Hair Guard and having your veterinarian look it over to see if it would work for your goat.

Yes, Trifecta has a low dosage of sugar compared to the rest of the diet, low starch, and safe for metabolic horses. It’s a great way for your miniature horse to receive a multivitamin, probiotic & prebiotic supplement, a joint supplement, and a hoof supplement.

Thank you for the question. I missed what the 1 pound is you are feeding, but if it isn’t a ration balancer you should be good. Complete feeds are generally safe to feed with Trifecta when the complete feed is fed at less than 4 pounds per day. If you would like to send me exactly what it is I would be more than happy to give you a for sure answer.

The alfalfa pellets are great to feed with Trifecta.

Let me know if I can answer anymore questions.

I feed my 1100 pound 13 year oldquarter horse gelding 1 lb. 2 times per day w/1 lb. of alfalfa pellets 3 times per day. Is it safe to feed the trifecta supplement along w/his regular diet?

Thank you for the question. Yes, Trifecta takes the place of the ration balancer. If could add some alfalfa or timothy pellets to give him that “grain” satisfaction.

Let me know if I can answer anymore questions.

My senior gelding is currently fed Enrich ration balancer along with his hay. He has been getting Trifecta as well, but my vet said that is likely doubling up on a lot of vitamins/minerals. Does Trifecta take the place of a ration balancer?

Karley,
Thank you for your question. Yes, it is safe to add magnesium with Trifecta. You can just add it to your current feed regime.
Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

Our 14 year old quarter horse has been on Trifecta for years. He has become a little anxious and was wondering if it is safe to add an additional magnesium supplement to his diet? He currently is on alfalfa/orchard mix, 2 scoops of Trifecta, and Timothy pellets.

I currently feed Platinum Performance GI and this seems to be doing well what would be the equivalent in Horseguard products? My horses are young and easy keepers.
